My teeth hurt I believe the filling was done incorrectly by a moron who isn't even a dentist?

My tooth is starting to hurt not sure why. The guy drilled out the old filling and added a new one---now I feel like the tooth is worn out. What will happen to the tooth?

If the dentist has to take the tooth out what can I do. I don't want to go without teeth. Is there a solution to this problem. I don't want to have grandfather teeth I'm 21 yrs old!

I brush my teeth everyday and have done so all these years. HELP!

My teeth hurt I believe the filling was done incorrectly by a moron who isn't even a dentist?
Just go to a real dentist. There are affordable dentist plans BUT don't tell them that you currently have problems with your teeth or they will deny you. Kaiser has dentist plans that start at $20.00 more per month with your current health coverage. They are pretty good.
Reply:Dude chill. Go to a real Dentist and have it fixed. Man they can give you a new grill if haven't got one.
Reply:Get a checkup by another dentist to either contradict or reinforce the previous dentists opinion.

My mum had a money extorting dentist when she was younger and he put a huge crown on her slightly chipped tooth, now its all discoloured.
Reply:Usually when you have a feeling the tooth may be a little sensitive. Trying taking some sort of paracetomol to dull any feeling. It will usually take about 2 to 3 days for the tooth to settle down. Also if he took the old filling out maybe it was due to being more decay underneath or because half of it had fallen out. In that case he might have had to drill quite close to the nerve. Which can cause some sensitivity. I would try letting the tooth settle down for a bit, take some panadol and if the pain is still there go back. You could also try to rub some sensodyne toothpaste around the gum of the tooth. Also sometimes if its so close to the nerve that its causing you problems that dont settle down you may need a root canal.
Reply:First of all, I would want to know WHY the old filling was replaced. Some unethical dentists do it just because the fillings are old and not because they are failing.

When an existing filling is replaced, the dentist often drills deeper into the tooth. THIS can create sensitivity, especially if the dentist did not put an insulating liner in prior to placing a new filling!!! The insulating liner contains oil of clove (eugenol in dental terms) that keeps the nerves calm. (Now you know why dental offices smell like clove.) Without the liner, the tooth is sensitive to hot and cold in particular.

Also, when the dentist drills out more enamel and dentin, he drills closer to the nerve. You are frozen when he does this so you feel nothing. However, after the freezing wears off, you become aware that the nerve, although not exposed by the drill, was traumatized due to the friction and vibration. This will make the tooth ache.

If is possible that during the drilling process your tooth cracked.

It is possible that there is too much filling material in the tooth and that you are now biting down on it too hard as a result.

Once the dentist (if you decide to go back to this guy) determines WHY you are in pain, he will choose his next treatment plan. This could include:

- removing the filling (again) and putting in the liner

- doing a root canal followed by the placement of a porcelain crown

- remove the tooth

- reduce the height of the filling if it was overfilled

Oh, by the way, brush 3 times per day, floss daily, and use a tongue scraper. This will really improve your dental health. Make sure you are taught the correct technique because poor technique is of little value.
Reply:visit a dentist to settle your problems.there are ways out to save your tooth and relieve you.dont think that the moron screwed your tooth,it might be a coincidence with your toothache
Reply:well i guess what you're going through is like pulling teeth......

but i doubt that the person who did your dentistry is not a dentist, how in the world could he be there then??.....

i think he is a dentist, he just decided that it would be better off if you dont speak since you frequently tell people off......so he pulled your teeth out.....

now all he has to do is find a way to keep you from typing on the internet.....%26lt;sigh%26gt;
