Do spacers on teeth hurt?
omg they hurt sooo bad!! i just got mine on yesterday and i couldnt sleep at all last nite..the pain is bad maybe its bcuz i have sensitive tteth but they still hurt and i can barely open my mouth...but i guess u can get used to it..i get mine off on tuesday and get my braces that day!!!!!!
Reply:Just don't eat anything hard until you get used to the spacers then remember not to eat anything sticky .
Reply:I got 7 spacers and my teeth are REALLY crowded and tight. For me, it didn't hurt that much........actually I didn't need to use any Tylenol or medicine but if it bothers you take some. As for what you can eat, you can eat everything except for hard crunchy stuff so avoid chips, hard candy, hard shell tacos.........that is what my orthodontist told me when he put my spacers on.
Good luck!
Reply:It is more annoying. You know when you are eating popcorn and you get a kernel stuck in your teeth? It's like that.
Reply:I got about 4 spacers between some of my teeth so that the could but braces on my teeth. They may be annoying but the really don't hurt unless your teeth are that crowed. (Which if they were your orthodontist would have told you so and gave you some special instructions.)You can probably eat like you normally do just try to stay away from hard food (and I mean really hard things), gum and candy. Hope it helps,
Reply:It hurst some, kind of achy. Tylenol really helps. You can eat anything that doesn't bother you - and that will really depend on your pain tollerance. But if you're nervous stock up on soft fruits, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, yogurt, ice cream and things like that. Its been a few years, but I don't remember it being that big of a deal - and my teeth were really tight too.
