Front teeth hurt in morning?

I have something to confess. I used to suck my fingers until I was 23. That was around a year ago. I finally stopped and was so happy I finally kicked my bad childhood habit. But now I notice when I wake up in the morning my front teeth hurt. I think that now my tongue is pushing out my front teeth while I am sleeping. Maybe I was used to my fingers and now I have replaced it with my tongue. I have always had an overbite but now I am scared it is getting bigger. Are there any mouth pieces or night guards that will keep my tongue from pushing on my front teeth at night??

Thanks!

You might also be bruxing (grinding and/or clenching) your teeth. Your dentist can make you a night guard to prevent movement of your teeth, and to protect your teeth.

Another thing you could try, it's not as effective, but I have seen it work is go to *****, or any sport store, and buy a mouth guard. They have the boil and shape ones. They can work, temporary, in many situations.
Reply:You could be grinding your teeth with out knowing it. They do have mouth guards you can wear, to save your teeth from the damage you can do to them. Your next visit to the dentist, ask him about it. He can give you more information.
Reply:go to your dentist and see if they can fit you with some kind of night guard . My hubby used to grind his teeth while sleeping he got fitted with a night guard and it seems to help . good luck and I hope I helped .
Reply:yeah my niece had a "tongue crib" like a retainer with spikes kinda looked like a rake it would poke her tongue so she would not push her teeth.
Reply:If you've been doing any teeth whiteners lately that could make your teeth hurt.
