My jaw teeth hurt REALLY BAD!?

I have a dentist appointment soon, I just want to prepare myself, because I have this irrational fear of the dentist, with all those sharp tools and their in my mouth, God, I'm getting mervous just thinking about it.

Anyways, it's two jaw teeth that are both filled with silver fillings and are alittle on the larger side. And it hurts soo bad. At first it was this occasional pain when I ate Sour Patch Kids, now it feels like I have 2 new cavaties on already filled teeth! And I don't want them pulled! I think I need those filliing replaced, is that all?

Could just be that they are reacting since they are large fillings. Get an xray and see if there is any decay around the filling. I have large fillings and they react sometimes, it sucks but they are large and it is something that comes with the size of the filling. The last thing you want to do is put a tylenol, motrin or whatever on your tooth or gums, all you are going to do is get a chemical burn and be in more pain.
Reply:put a pain killer in your mouth and let it dissolve there right where it hurts most in your mouth.
Reply:Unfortunately, only the dentist can tell you. It could be that your jaw is misaligned due to the large fillings and that is causing your "bite" to be "off". Don't be afraid -- if you are too stressed out, ask him to give you some light laughing gas and you will not CARE if he probes you.... at least take something for the pain that is safe and over the counter to help.... Good luck! Go to a dentist that is patient and kind, too!
